BODYBALANCE 18

VELOCITY OF DAYLIGHT BODYBALANCE 18:

My debut into in the world of Bodybalance.

Bodybalance 18 is an awesome release. The class starts with Silver a moving tai chi warm-up the track has smooth underlay within it and has a soft operatic approach to it. Kosheen make their first appearance in this release. Bodybalance 18 is an epic release and has now become a CLASSIC BODYBALANCE.

This one is special I trained on Bodybalance 18. Track that I presented were 02 Daylight Delerium and 09 I am not worried at All – Moby. Finally presented Daylight an awesome track.

Many thanks Charlene Baillie and Dr Jackie Mills for her choreography and Marci for talking me into doing the training.

BODYBALANCE 19

A THOUSAND MILES OF SILENCE BODYBALANCE 19:

Bodybalance 19 is an awesome release. It begins with Deliver Me The Beloved and moves into Delirium Inner Sanctum. The release is special because it continues the use of Kosheen's Hide You from a journey of Harder track 8 from Bodybalance 18.

FEATURED ARTISTS:

Featured artists for this release are Kosheen and Delerium.

KOSHEEN

Kosheen arrived in bodybalance 18 with the haunting Harder. They are a English act and come from Bristol Gloustershire England. There music can be described as hard crashing elements fused with electronic fused sythersised musical tones. Hide you is track two from this release some would say that this is one of the hardest track twos ever that may also be a personal viewpoint.

Their websiite: http://www.kosheen.com/home/

DELERIUM

Delerium are the talents of Leeb and Fulber they have had over 18 releases. They came to Bodybalance with release 14 and have been constantly with the program since then. They have a side project called Conjure One and they also have appeared in Bodybalance from Bodybalance 22 to the present.

Bodybalance 20 is dedicated to Jack Campbell Master Trainer for Bodybalance in Germany. Sadly Jack died in October 2003 and he will be sadly missed. Jack bought Bodybalance to Europe and he appeared in earlier videos and was a contributor the earlier releases of Bodybalance. Jackie dedicated this release to him.

God Bless Jack!

This release also is the final video appearance for Lee Parore who was in many video releases. His is trully an awesome person. Jackie - Emma and Lee made a formable combination on the videos and I was so pleased to get trained in release 18.

BODYBALANCE 22

THE RISING OF A ELECTRIC STORM BODYBALANCE 22:

This bodybalance is a slow one. It kind of creeps up on you. Conjure One come to Bodybalance and have contributed to another release 23. This time in my view point has tons of space for the serious Bodybalancer and also some challenges in maintaining strength in poses. The seamless transitions add fluidity to the class and Dr Jackie Mills has provided opportunities for growth and knowing where one can extend and not in any of the set poses of this release.

FEATURED ARTISTS

Mary J Blige and Sinead O'Connor are the featured artists of this release.

MARY J BLIGE

Mary J Blige appears on Bodybalance 21 as Standing Strength with No More Drama (Sampled from Y & R.) This time Mary J Blige connects with the Abs this time. Mary J Blige is at the top of the Hip-Hop and R & B scene in the USA today. Awesome stuff to say the least./

SINEAD O’CONNOR

Sinead O'Connor is an Irish singer she first came to Bodybalance with BB 12 Hold Back The Night Sinead O'Connor which to me is one of the most dramatic ff/hamstrings tracks I have ever done. It simply is so simple and connects on all levels only 4 sequences and the Hindi Squats are awesome at the end of the track :) Molly Fox has superb choreography to say the least. Now we shoot forward to track 2 of this release which she lends her vocals to Conjure One with this massive song from Conjure Ones first of many release.

Quite awesome stuff indeed :)

Bodyblance 21 came to us in 2003 it was a May 2003 release. New concepts come to the forefront of this massive program and we see the introduction of Joy of Living feat Niza with a long and slow Sun Saluation and the introduction of new poses in track 9.

FAITHLESS

This is the first time Faithless has come to Bodyblance it is from their 2001 CD Outrospective. The CD is massive on the Dance and Trance club sets in Australia and also Europe. Although they have come to Bodybalance once I think they deserve a featured section in Bodyblance 21 section.

HATHA YOGA AND ASANAS!

Bodybalance is based on the principles of Hatha Yoga.

Here is a brief description of Hatha Yoga of which is a number of hundred variations of Yoga Practice in use today.

Hatha Yoga:

Hatha Yoga has it origins in India over 3,000 years ago. It is the centerpiece of Bodybalance. Hatha Yoga (ha.) is sun and (tha.) is moon. It is the combination of Ying and Yang and the meeting of polar plexus. It incorporates breath in particular inhale and exhale breath in the practice. Hatha Yoga uses Asanas which are the basis for each pose in a Hatha Yoga Class. These poses are have identifying elements called Shakras which are the energy cycles that control our lives and improve our daily health and well being.

Praynayama is the breath cycle of Hatha Yoga through controlled breath we are able to control the mind and reach an altered state of being "Nirvana." which is the center piece of a holistic approach to all our yoga practices. Some people reach "Nirvana." in a truly relaxed state, while others do not. It takes some mastery to reach a true state of Nirvana. Developing a proper approach to your Bodybalance classes and incorporating this knowledge of Hatha Yoga into your daily Bodybalance classes will enhance the whole holistic approach to each class you attend. You in turn learn so much more in who you are and the different levels of state one can actually achieve with each and every Bodybalance class you attend.

Namaste to all :)

SHOES OR NO SHOES

If you are a seasoned Yoga participant then you know no shoes in a Yoga Class. The same rule applies to a Bodybalance class.

Reasoning would be:

You need to have a firm base connection to the surface of the floor or ground while doing Bodybalance. So we encourge all not to wear shoes as some of the poses require some sort of flexibility and the wearing of shoes might inhibit some of the poses and may lead to some sort of injury if you are not in the right phase of each yoga pose.

So shoes off please :)

WHAT TO BRING TO A BODYBALANCE CLASS!

The only thing to bring is a Yoga Mat (if you need one.) or a towel and some water of you need to drink. In saying this Bodybalance is one class that flows from one track to another there are no water breaks as such in the class and most people don't bring water to the area they are completing the class in.

SO WHATS TAI CHI AND QI CHONG

Not does only Bodybalance has Yoga Based movements, Pilates etc.. as its basis. It has Tai Chi and Qi Chong as centerpieces of the program.

Both of these elements sit very well together.

However, Qi Chong is used in Standing Strength as well as Tai Chi warmup. It also enhances other places of the program as well.

What is Tai Chi?

No one knows exactly where Tai Chi began or its ancient origins. It has been apart of ancient south east asian philosophies for tens of hundreds of years. However it can be traced to some extent to China where it is one of the 5 pilars of Tai Chi philosophies that make up the universe as we see it in all its wonder.

Harmony is also another aspect of Tai Chi (Ying.) and (Yang.) East and West Solar Plexes. It developes awarness of yourself and provides emotional well being thoughout the Tai Chi art of practice. We move from stillness into light.

Tai Chi in its slowest form in some marshall arts can be seen in different movements in these marshall arts forms.

There are 5 known branches and diciplines of Tai Chi and each of these has branched out to form variants of the ancient form we know today as Tai Chi to some extent in Bodybalance.

SO WHAT MAKES BODYBALANCE SO AWESOME?

Up until Bodybalance was created there were traditional classes in Yoga and Tai - Chi and Pilates to some extent. The nature of the program makes it accessable to a wider audience that was not there in the past.

Unlike some Exercise to Music classes Bodybalance goes beyond this and incorproates elements of Focus and Breath into each element of the classes.

The class lasts for a period of 1 hour with the last 10 minutes dedicated to meditation and relaxation.

The body will re-align, postural correct and become balanced in every sense possible.

WHAT IS BODYBALANCE?

All is in the question.

Bodybalance was created by Dr Jackie Mills in association with Molly Fox a world leader in the area of Yoga and Exercise Videos.

It was created in 1998 and was internationally released in 1999.

The first country to obtain such an honour was Australia where in 1999 Bodybalance was unleashed.

Today there are over 9,000 clubs taking on Bodybalance and over 40,000 Bodybalance Teachers sharing their passion for this program.

It is a blend of East meets West combining Tai-Chi, Elements of Yoga and Pilates and Feldenkrais. It also incorporates elements of Meditation and Relaxation.

There are 10 minutes that are yours. Meditation and Relaxation. This is your time to just chill and mellow out. Switch off and loose the day behind you and welcome the new. There is usually 2 tracks sometimes Jackie uses only one track.
